This work was a response to the topographic maps of Camber Sands and the notorious conditions associated with this water way. The tidal change can be so quick that the sand turns to cement, as gentle drifting of water can turn dangerous and sinister. The digital sound is an algorithm of data created from water fatalities. The performance work is a collaboration of skills. Circus artist / aerialist Yma Ziranek Wilson majestically demonstrates the control of strength while at height, using the hoop to turn while twisting and bending into many positions. The delicate and subtle approach to the performance is absorbing to watch within the surroundings of the Copeland Gallery.
